Brothers respect their sister and by doing these type of festivals their love increases a lot. Brothers have responsibility to protect their sister from each and every problem which comes in their way. Bhai dhooj is a very auspicious ceremony which is celebrated in most of the parts of the India. it is a Hindu festival and especially in the northern part of India it is celebrated with full enthusiasm. These festivals are in the traditions of our Indian culture which bring the people more closer to each other.
After the two days of Diwali this festival is celebrated. There is an old story related to this festival the river Yamuna invited her brother yam to her home and she put tika on her forhead and welcomed her. This is the reason we celebrate bhai dhooj. it is also said that yam is called the god of death so if the girl put tika on this day to her brother then he gets a long life. Every festival has their own beliefs and people believe them and enjoy them.
