Ashwani Sharma, a leading BJP leader in the Pathankot city. He lives in Bank colony New Shastri Nagar Pathankot. He won the election of 2007& 2009 and became the MLA of the city. BJP has coalition with the Akali Dal and they nominated Ashwani Kumar Sharma as its member for the constituency. Before this he defeated Raman Bhalla in the election which was his opponent from the congress party and won with 17843 votes as per the records of the Punjab election commission. He became the member of the member of the vidhan sabha in 2012.

Ashwani Sharma is the resident of Punjab and was born on 23-01-1965 at Pathankot. His father name is sh. Pandit Uma Datt. This BJP MLA has done lots of works in the city and always ready to take initiatives for the development of the city. The people of the city are satisfied with the work done by him. He also helps the poor people. Punjab has 23 seats for the election out of which, 17 candidates are from the BJP. BJP has announced its members for the 2017 election. In the Pathankot constituency we have three members who are electing 2017 election. The candidates of Pathankot are Seema kumari from Bhua, Ashwani Sharma from Pathankot and Dinesh Singh Babu from the Sujanpur.

Ashwani Sharma is the best leader of BJP and has done lots of works for the progress of the city. He made the Pathankot city as the District of the city which was really a big achievement for the city as well as the people of the city. He made many roads and streets in the city. He has also opened a college at Lamini for the poor people of the city. The fee of this college is less as compared to the other colleges in the city. The college has given a new hope for the students who cannot afford the fee of the private colleges. He has made a corporation in the city. He has also opened a mall in the city for the people. He is a Kind hearted person and noble man who always help the needy people. He also set an example for the other leaders who are working in the city. The works done by him are really appreciable. This is the reason why people want him in 2017 election.
