Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP): The roots of Bharatiya Janata Party lie in the Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS) which was formed in 1980 by Syama Prasad Mookerjee. Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Lal Krishan Adwani are the founders of this party. This party has done various prominent works for the country’s development under their leadership. The party always works for the development of the people.

Indian National Congress (INC): This is the oldest party of India and was formed in 1885. Allan Octavian Hume, Dadabhai Naoroji and Dinshaw Wacha were the prominent leaders who founded this party during the British rule. After the independence, under the leadership of Jawahar Lal Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi the party had achieved lots of success. The congress has taken many steps for the benefit of the people.

Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD):
This is the party of the Sikhs in Punjab which is led by Sukhbir singhBadal. The party aims at solving the issues of the Sikhs in Punjab and also, to resolve their problems. This party came into existence in 1940. Right now the party is working under the partnership with Bharatiya Janata Party. The party became more prominent under the leadership of Master Tara Singh who made the party more popular.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP): AAP party works for the common man and resolves their issues. Arvind kejriwal is the chief minister of the party. They are working hard in order to remove the corruption from the country.the party is using the symbol ‘Broom’ for all the 70 assembly constituencies of Delhi.The party won the election in the Punjab with the majority of votes.

Awaaz E Punjab: This party is an Indian national party in Punjab which is formed on 8 september 2016. Navjot singh sidhu who was the cricketer of the Indian team is the head of this party. The party has also started one mission”Better Punjab” for the development of the people of the Punjab.
Shiv Sena : This party was formed on 19 june 1966. The party works according to the marathy ideology and in hindu nationalism under the strong leadership of Bal Thackeray. His son Uddhav Thackeray has joined the party. The members of the party are also called as Shivsainiks. They are also known as the extremist. They have a strong hold on the Bollywood.

Bajrang Dal: This party was formed on 1 October 1984 in Uttar Pradesh. It is basically a hiindu militant organization that has made the youth group in the Vishva Hindu Parishad and the member of the RSS family of organization. The party has main agenda which is based on the hindu fundamentalism and also to build Raamjanamabhoomi temple in Ayodhya etc.

Communist Party of India (CPM): The foundation date of the party is 26 December 1925 as declared by the party. It is a communist party in India. The party faced many problems during the British rule because they stooped all the communist activities in India. The party is working for the development of the country.
