UGC Net-JRF Coaching
UGC-NET- is conducted for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor both in Indian Universities and Colleges.
The UGC- NET JRF (it is compulsory Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor both), will be conducted by the NTA (national Testing Agency). UGC-NET examination is conducted in 84 subjects at 91 selected Cities of spread across the country. Candidates who clear the Test of UGC for Assistant Professor are governed by the rules and regulations for recruitment of Assistant Professor of the concerned universities/colleges/state governments, as the case may be.
As per the press-release by Indian Government, the exam would be conducted twice a year June month and December month, and it will be conducted in an online mode instead of offline mode.
Jobs Opportunities for NET Qualified Candidates
University Grants Commission (UGC) announced by Govt of India in 2013 that the candidates who clear the NET successfully would be eligible for lucrative jobs in public sector undertakings (PSUs). UGC-NET scores is also used by the PSUs for the recruitment process of the posts of executives in their organizations in disciplines like science (R&D), management, corporate communications, human resources, and finance. This step taken by the UGC would also increase the number of students taking the UGC-NET examination which has witnessed a gradual decline in recent years.
UGC-NET Qualifying Criteria
Qualifying Exam: Students must have minimum qualifying marks with aggregate 55% marks to General and 50% to reserved candidates in master’s degree. Students those appearing in the final semester of the master’s degree can also apply.
Cut off Marks: UGC-NET qualifying cut off marks for General category is 40% in Paper I & II while the qualifying marks for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD/Transgender categories is 35% in Paper I & II.
On the other hand, Top 6% of candidates will be selected for eligibility of NET Lectureship. Simultaneously, a separate list for JRF would be prepared.
Age Criteria: For JRF Candidate must not be more than 28 years of age as on January 1, 2019. And for Assistant Professorship No upper age limit has been declared by UGC.
The age relaxation of up to 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC/ST, OBC- NCL, and PwD) and also to women applicants.
